1. General Safety & Conduct

Personal Responsibility
By registering and signing, you confirm that you possess the necessary knowledge and experience to climb safely. We do not check your skills; you are responsible for your own safety.

Minors and Age Restrictions

  • Under 14: Must be under the constant supervision of an adult companion.
  • 12–13 (Squad Athletes): May climb with a signature from a parent AND club trainer.
  • 14–18: May climb alone if they can show a declaration of consent from a legal guardian.
  • Beginners: Should attend a course and never use the facility without expert supervision.

Facility Rules

  • Cleanliness: Store backpacks/bags in lockers or shelves. Do not leave them in fall zones.
  • Running: Strictly prohibited (except in the children’s paradise).
  • Distractions: No headphones (loud music) and no phone usage while belaying.
  • Prohibited Items: No animals/pets. No climbing under the influence of alcohol.
  • Jewelry: Rings and necklaces must be removed to prevent injury.

Emergency Protocols

  • Accidents: You are obliged to provide first aid. Report all accidents to staff immediately.
  • Fire: Evacuate immediately via emergency exits toward the outdoor climbing towers.
  • Fitness Area: Dangerous if used incorrectly. No children under 14 allowed.

2. Bouldering Safety Rules

Before You Climb

  • Warm-up: Do this outside of danger zones/fall areas.
  • Fall Zone: Ensure no one is climbing above you or standing below you.
  • Mats: Do not sit or lie on the mats. Keep them clear of bottles and hard objects.

While Climbing & Landing

  • Spotting: Have a partner spot you on high/difficult problems.
  • Children: Small children should not boulder higher than 3m unsecured.
  • Landing: Land with legs slightly bent and roll backwards. Never land with straight legs.
  • Descent: Use “down-climb” holds to spare your back instead of jumping from the top.

3. Rope Climbing Safety

Pre-Climb Checks (Mandatory)

  • Competency: Verify your partner’s skills before the session.
  • Partner Check: Before every route, check:
    1. Knot is correct and tied close to the harness.
    2. Harness is fastened (buckles doubled back if necessary).
    3. Carabiners are locked.
    4. Belay device is set correctly (perform a blocking test).
    5. Stopper knot is tied at the end of the rope.

Belaying Standards

  • Device: Semi-automatic devices are recommended.
  • Position: Do not stand too far from the wall.
  • Focus: No sitting while belaying. No phones. Use belay glasses to maintain attention.
  • Weight Difference: Be aware of weight differences; check if a dynamic arrest is possible.

Climbing & Clipping

  • Clipping: Clip from a stable position. Never “back-clip” or “Z-clip.”
  • Pendulum Risk: Keep a distance of at least 5 quickdraws from other climbers to avoid collision during a swing.
  • Top-Roping:
    • Only allowed on special protection points at the end of routes.
    • Prohibited: Top-roping from the middle of the wall.
    • Prohibited: Top-roping on severely overhanging routes without clipping intermediate protection.

Outdoor Area Risks

  • Weather: Avoid the area during storms, lightning, or high winds.
  • Holds: Large temperature swings can loosen holds; exercise increased caution.
